NCC Chalet! 8th-10th December.

Day 1:
Firstly, went to meet darling at Sengkang first.
Then, we went to Pasir Ris together and reached there a little too early, at 2.20pm.
The meeting time was supposed to be at 3.30pm so we went to play abit of drums first then went to eat KFC.
Then, at about 3.15pm, saw people starting to stream in, so I went to collect money for the chalet.
And at about 3.45pm, a few people were still not at the MRT station, and eventually I found out that they were already at the chalet.
So I was like wtf, then the whole group took bus 354 to Downtown East and finally arrived at the chalet.
Quite late already, so quickly settled down and started playing cards.
Darling and I started an Asshole Tai-Ti (Big 2) game and soon after many people joined in and Gordon started cheating.
I left for awhile to play Pokemon cards, then we all went out for dinner.
I had some kind of chicken rice while darling went to get her McChicken.
After that most of us went to arcade, where darling played drums and the rest of us waited for Daytona.
I tried one round of Initial D also, but lack of practise certainly put me a cut below the AI.
Then somehow I played Daytona and beat this Ah Beng.
Then he came over.
Then I ran away.
I quickly sent darling home and came back to chalet.
Came back, almost everyone was spamming Playstation.
Then, most of them went to watch the midnight show of Bolt.
I watched it with darling the week before, so I did not go at all.
Stayed in the chalet to play Pro Evolution Soccer.
When they all came back, we started gambling in Blackjack.
At first I lost up to 5 dollars, but then eventually I got an overall profit of 1 dollar and I quit after that.
Then at 6am, people in the room started waking up so I went up to sleep.

Day 2:
Woke up at around 9.45am.
Called darling and after that immediately went to fetch her at the bus stop.
The rest decided to go cycling so after fetching her and having breakfast, Zhihao, darling and I went to rent a bike each for 1 hour and went off to find them.
After we went back to chalet, continued to spam cards and started gambling again.
This time, lost nearly a full 5 bucks before everyone spontaneously quit.
Then, played asshole tai-ti in the room and was having a fun time watching Kah How play for the first time and also Zhihao showing off his biggest cards, which were mostly 9s or 10s due to the fact that he was quite an asshole xD
After that, had to prepare for BBQ so went around everywhere to get alot of stuff.
We started the BBQ at around 6+, and we started off with chicken wings.
Then chicken patties, then I competed with Nic Pek for a PhD in Sausage-Poking.
After most of the food ran out, sent darling home!
Returned back, then after a while they wanted to go bowling, so 13 of us went to orchid bowl!
Suddenly my bowling sucked, and out of the 2 games I played, I only managed to strike in the 9th frame. Both unlucky and abit eerie.
And here's a fact, the reception at Orchid Bowl is worse than Black Box.
Then, was rather tired when I got back, so I quickly found a place to sleep.

Day 3:
Supposed to book out at 10.30am, and I woke up at an amazing 10.15am.
Last person to wake up ><
Then after that we all went to White Sands for lunch, and we parted ways.

Now it's time for 1N'06/2N'07 Chalet!
3rd - 5th December 2008.

Day 1:
Supposed to meet 1.30pm at Bukit Gombak MRT Station.
As expected, no one was early except Leon, Yu Quan, Zong Han and me.
Waited for about half an hour, and everyone was finally gathered.
Walked a full 15-20 minutes from the MRT station to Bukit Batok Home Team NS.
There at the lobby, was joined by Mr. Jared Quek, my form teacher for both Secondary 1 and 2.
Reached the chalet, settled down quickly, and I was probably the most panicky there when I did not hesitate to set up my Xbox for playing.
While everyone just started playing cards, I ran off from the chalet at Bukit Gombak to meet darling at Sengkang.
After a 2 hour long journey which was filled with bus rides, I arrived at Compass Point.
Firstly, went up to ValuShop to do some cheap shopping of snacks and then had dinner at KFC!
Also had sweets from MiniToons, then walked darling home from Compass Point(:
After another 2 hour long journey, arrived back at the chalet miraculously.
Easily blended in with the crowd, and played cards.
I shall not go into detail about the Indian Poker game we played, because some of the content is rated about M-18.
After that, I slept at about 3am.

Day 2:
Forgot what time I woke up, but it was about 10am.
I was waiting for Shi Ping to come back from breakfast to return me my PSP so that I could bring it out but he ended up hogging it way beyond arriving back from breakfast.
So I gave up, and quickly left for Pasir Ris.
Walked with Yu Quan to Bukit Gombak MRT Station, then he alighted one stop later, while I took all the way to Jurong East and changed to the East-West Line, and stood 51 minutes the whole journey to Pasir Ris.
Darling was at White Sands Zone-X, so I went up to find her.
Then, I had a Roasted Chicken Leg for lunch, then we decided to go off to Downtown East as dear wanted to show me around the new E-Hub!
The Zone-X there was apparently way cheaper, and we played a few rounds of Drum Mania, and both Daytona games I played, I got 1st for both. Watch out people!
Then, we decided to catch a movie at the cinema there!
Since Bolt was the new movie and was constantly being featured, we decided to catch it.
Then while waiting for the movie to begin, we went down to the basement level where New York New York the restaurant was giving out free cotton candy.
So darling went to take one and we walked around the basement level.
Then suddenly I heard someone call my name.
It was Dennis, lol.
Refer to his blog for why he was there, and of course he was with Kristin la (he didn't include that part).
Then, the time for the movie came and we avoided the spammage of kids going in by waiting for a while.
I shall do the review later(:
After the movie, I sent dear back home and took the 2 hour journey back to the chalet again.
Somehow, I was stuck alone until Mr. Quek came to tell me they were at the Bowling Alley.
I took the key and locked the chalet and proceeded to find them, only to discover they were already in their last game.
I played one game with Shi Ping, and this was the score:

Somehow he managed to get a double strike, and I got owned.
After that, went to play abit of basketball, before going back to the chalet.
I couldn't sleep, so I randomly walked around and ended up sleeping at 3am on the bench in the living room.

Day 3:
Woke up at about 9.45am and discovered my Xbox was being burnt up the whole night.
Wow, it survived another chalet.
Packed up at about 10.25am, and left the chalet.
Well, it is over.

Movie in Focus: Bolt

Plot summary (Courtesy of wikipedia):
A White German Shepherd named Bolt is the title character of a hit television series called Bolt, co-starring with his loving owner Penny. In the show, Bolt has various superpowers such as super strength and speed, heat vision, invincibility and an ultra-sonic "super bark," and constantly thwarts the evil plans of Dr. Calico. However, the filming crew has intentionally kept Bolt ignorant about the fact that he is being filmed to create an effect of realism on the show. As such, Bolt not only doesn't know that his superpowers aren't real, but he is deprived of living like a normal dog, much to Penny's dismay. After filming the show's first cliffhanger episode in which Penny is kidnapped by Dr. Calico, Bolt believes she is in actual danger and becomes all the more motivated to "rescue" her. He breaks out of his trailer and runs through the studio, attempting to break through a window only to be knocked unconscious and fall into a cardboard box, which is shipped from Hollywood to New York City.

Roaming the streets of New York, he finds that his "powers" aren't working, believing that the Styrofoam from the cardboard has a weakening effect on his body (much like Kryptonite for Superman). He decides to find a cat whom he believes will lead him to Dr. Calico and Penny, associating all cats with the villain because he owns two of them. A flock of pigeons brings Bolt to Mittens, a street cat who loves to threaten them out of their food, as a means of retribution. Fearing for her own safety, she plays along with Bolt's delusions that she works for Calico, and directs him to Hollywood, but ends up getting dragged along as a "prisoner." Meanwhile, Penny is saddened by Bolt's disappearance, but is forced by the studio to keep shooting with a Bolt stand-in, which looks exactly like him.

Bolt begins to have feelings he had never experienced before, such as pain, and hunger, the latter of which convinces him that Mittens had poisoned him. Coming across a camp site, the cat teaches him how to beg to the campers for food, which she passes off as the "antidote," like a dog usually does. There, they meet Rhino, a TV-obsessed hamster and a huge Bolt-enthusiast, whom they recruit on their journey westward. Realizing his identity as a TV star, Mittens tries to convince Bolt that his whole life has been part of a TV series, and that his powers aren't real, but they are both captured by Animal Control. After being broken out of the Animal Control van by their hyperactive hamster friend, Bolt finally realizes the truth about his powers. However, Rhino, oblivious to this revelation, inadvertently tells the depressed pooch that he doesn't need his powers to be a hero. Using stealth and improvisation, Bolt and Rhino rescue Mittens, who is profoundly moved by the heroism of these confused new friends.

As the trio continue on the journey, Bolt is depressed that he doesn't know what to do with his life, now that he knows he has no superpowers, so Mittens teaches him how to live like a normal dog. Bolt takes to typical dog activities, such as playing fetch and sticking his head out the window of a moving vehicle. After the long trek westward, ending up in Las Vegas, Mittens begins to assume that her canine friend will be content living as a homeless stray, but the dog is still motivated to return to Penny. Suddenly embittered, she begins to rant that Penny's love for him is no more real than his superpowers or adventures, inadvertently revealing that she was once a house cat who was declawed, and abandoned. Refusing to believe that his own owner doesn't love him, Bolt continues on to Hollywood alone, leaving Mittens with no ill will. Later, Rhino convinces the mildly regretful feline to follow Bolt to Hollywood and help him.

Bolt returns to the studio, and is heartbroken to find Penny lovingly embracing his lookalike; Unaware that Penny still misses him, and that her affection for the Bolt stand-in was part of a rehearsal for the show. Witnessing Penny's sadness for her lost dog, and realizing that she truly does love Bolt, Mittens confronts him and manages to clear up the misunderstanding. Back on the set, the Bolt stand-in panics during filming and accidentally knocks over some torches, setting the soundstage on fire, and trapping Penny. Bolt arrives and reunites with his owner, rescuing her from the inferno of the soundstage, by using the SuperBark in an air vent to alert the fire fighters where they are. After the two are pulled out of the building and into the ambulance, Penny's mom has her quit the show. They end up adopting Mittens and Rhino, and move to a rural home to enjoy a simpler, happy lifestyle with Bolt and their new found friends. However, the studio they quit from replaced Penny and decided to give the Bolt TV show a more Sci-Fi plot, adding aliens to it.

Overall, a perfect movie for both the parents and the kids, and the plot definitely is a little cheesy, much like Beverly Hills Chihuahua, but this one with its animation definitely gets my thumbs-up.

Today was a rather uneventful day.
Got woken up early in the morning to well, help my sis move out of her NUS Hostel room.
Firstly, went to Alexandra Road IKEA to have breakfast!
$1.80 for 2 pancakes and a hard-boiled egg.
Wonder what is so attractive about it.

After having breakfast, went to the NUS Residence to stuff everything in the hostel room into plastic bags and carried everything down to the car.
After that my sis went to return the room key and then we all went home.
And I've been stoning in front of the computer till now.

My laptop can finally install AuditionSEA and play it properly!
So, played AuditionSEA with darling for awhile, and darling helped to level up my character!

Guess I have to learn to chance and play Beat Rush more effectively.

I shall begin with today, a new day of a new month!

1st December 2008

First of all, goodbye to the Beijing December Batch! Have fun drinking [strike]melamine-tainted[/strike] milk till 10th January!
This morning, went to school for IAC meeting, then (as expected), got dragged to do HP Magazine stuff again.
Like when, all the files are totally not present not because we don't want to do but because the teacher doesn't want to give them to us, how do you expect me to send them?

So I ran off halfway when the rubrics for cleanliness was being drafted out, and went to find darling at Sengkang to accompany her to see the doctor at the polyclinic.
Apparently polyclinics the registration super slow, but the consultation super fast.
Should be the other way around right?
Then after that, went to darling's house to play Big 2.
Well, somehow time passed very fast and from 4pm, poof, it was 6pm and I had to leave for home!

Met up with darling early in the morning to go to NLB.
AS always, we were the first ones there again!
And when we were relaxing and playing Geo Challenge, darling picked the wrong flag for Singapore! xD
Then we were both trying to control our laughter so as to not break the silence of the study lounge ><
Then, went to Plaza Sing to get darling's wallet!
It's from Charles & Keith, black leather wallet.
Looks very nice to me, and dear liked it alot :D
After that, went to darling's house to slack for awhile, then went home.

First day of heritage trail, which turned out to be the only day of heritage trail.
The expected audience was way beyond what actually appeared at Hwa Chong Institution.
I still remember the first question I got asked was,

“请问厕所在哪里?”

I stunned for two seconds and then I pointed the way.
I know I'm from Hwa Chong, but coming up to my school's booth to ask where the toilet is like the whole exhibition is completely useless!
So I wasted about 6 hours there, picking up about 6 hours of CIP at the same time.

Then I went to find darling at Plaza Sing, then fetched her home safely.
Apparently the Charles & Keith there had the wallet she always wanted, and it was the last piece so she reserved it!

Woke up at about 6.45am this morning, took a bathe and went off to meet darling at Bugis MRT station to go to NLB!
After dear mugged for a while and I finished a few chapters of Breaking Dawn, we decided to go and find Hui Shan at Novena Square, but we couldn't see her, so we left rather readily.
Then we went to catch the 3pm screening of Wild Child at Orchard Cinileisure.
While waiting, we went to play at the arcade there.
Darling wanted to play the guitar but apparently the machine was under maintenance, so we played DrumMania instead.
The beginner was rather easy, however standard was a killer.
Also I tried DDR and dear tried the Para Para thing.
Well, I just have to say that I'm not cut out for dancing.
After that, sent darling home!

Movie in Focus: Wild Child

Plot summary (Courtesy of wikipedia):
The film starts with a shot of the ocean before a shot of Poppy Moore sleeping. She then wakes up before remembering her dad's girlfriend is moving in. In a bid to get attention she gets her heap of very fake friends to trash all her dad's girlfriend's stuff. She then proceeds to jump off the cliff with some clothes which her father is not pleased about. He tells her he is sending her to boarding school in England.

Her roommates take a disliking to her spoilt ways and she immediately alienates herself with her attitude towards the school and other girls, resulting in one of the teachers putting her whole room in detention. After this Poppy tries to find a way to leave with no much success. She sneaks into the computer room at night to send an email to her best friend Ruby and sees Drippy sneaking into the freezer to have some ice cream after an embarrassing eyebrow tint. When a fire drill happens whilst Poppy is out of her dormitory room, she sneaks outside and climbs up a ladder into one of the rooms so she does not get caught. A male voice from behind a bath curtain asks her name and helps her get out without being caught.

During a lacrosse practice Poppy laughs at Harriet's attempts to be a good lacrosse player and the two get into a fight on the ground when Freddie drives up and uses Poppy's name making her realise that his was the male voice she heard. When she goes to the headmistress's office, Mrs Kingsley gives her the novel Alice in Wonderland, telling her it might help. When Harriet is forcing a first year to "age" her clothes for the upcoming school dance, she sees Poppy sitting on a bench under the window and pours the dirty water all over Poppy. Room-mate Kate finds Poppy upset and alone in their room and finds out that Poppy's mum passed away when she was eleven years old. She tells Poppy she will have to get herself expelled if she's serious about escaping.

As she reads Alice in Wonderland, her roommates sneak up on her and decide to help her get expelled. They give their ideas on how she can get expelled, and they all help with the deeds bringing them closer together, but Poppy still wants to leave. When none of their plans work they decide to up the anti and hit the headmistress closer to home via her rather gorgeous son Fredie who is strictly forbidden to fraternise with any of the girls. They go into town to find some outfits for the dance and Poppy finds herself enjoying shopping in a thrift store. They then go to the hairdresser and Poppy goes back to a more natural colour of dark brown.

As the dance starts all the boys are on one side and the girls on another and then Harriet comes out to the tune of Pride and Prejudice, wearing a costume and attempting a pout which seems to scare Freddie more than anything. After dancing with Freddie, Poppy trips and hits her head which leads Fredie to take the concussed girl outside for air where he asks her out on a date for when he comes back to the school. During this time Poppy whips the lacrosse team into shape, getting them to the final which is a first for them. Before going out with Freddie, Poppy is so excited she doesn't log off the computer after emailing Ruby, and runs off. On the date Poppy tries to make them stay close to school but they end up going into town and Poppy finds herself falling for Freddie. They kiss during lunch and Poppy returns to school on a high. When she returns she finds her roommates reading an email from her email address sent to Ruby stating that she thought all of her new friends were losers and pathetic, then she finds that Freddie has been given a similar email that tells him the reason Poppy wanted to date him was to get expelled and that she thought he was a loser and English dweeb.

Poppy, with no one else to turn to, sneaks down to the cook's room to use the phone and rings Ruby who also got a e-mail, who is apparently "busy" and is desperate to get off the phone. Thinking it is now someone else on the phone Ruby reveals how she dislikes Poppy. During the phone call we see Drippy go to the freezer for ice cream. Feeling even more alone, Poppy starts playing with her lighter, setting a towel alight. Hearing footsteps, she quickly puts out the fire and runs off. A few minutes later, she looks out her window to see a fire, and wakes Kate and the rest of the school. As they all wait for the roll call they find that Drippy is missing, Poppy realises where she must have been and runs into the smoky room to get her out. After the fire is put out, Freddie looks at the damage and finds her lighter. He gives it back to her, refusing to listen to what happened. Poppy goes to the headmistress and confesses. Poppy also asks Mrs. Kingsley to give a letter to Freddie apologizing and confessing her feelings about everything.

While waiting for the Honour Court which will decide if she should be expelled. The school thinks Poppy was trying to kill them all and are ready to give her up. Poppy finds a picture of her mum and the lacrosse team and thinks about how they are a like. Poppy sits with the picture when Freddie finds her crying. After a heart to heart, Freddie is convinced that she, Poppy, is innocent and did not write the email. At the Honour Court, Poppy tells her story while her roommates find out Poppy was out with Freddie when the email was sent, and Harriet was the only one around. Going to the court, they get the whole school to confess they were present at the fire. Harriet then lets slip about Poppy's lighter being used to start the fire, which only Poppy and Freddie knew about, and accidentally confesses to restarting the fire after Poppy had successfully put it out. Poppy is innocent and Harriet is expelled and the whole year is happy about that. The movie is left off at the lacrosse finals where Abbey Mount wins. Poppy's father comes to the game and is shocked by Poppy's dramatic change, in particular, how similar she has become to her mother. Poppy is happy about how she has changed and how her "heart is healed". Some months later, Poppy is back at her home with her father and her sister in Malibu, together with Kate, Josie, Jennifer, Camilla and Freddie. Ruby rings her to see if she wants to meet up. When Freddie asks who Ruby is she reply by saying "some bitch I used to know". To celebrate them spending time with her, Poppy convinces her friends to make the leap off the cliff that led her to arrival at Abbey Mount. In spite of their misgivings, the five young women make the jump into the ocean below.

Overall a rather funny movie with anticipation for the next scene almost immediately, however the cliched ending is much too expected, but it's what everyone wants to see - a happy ending.

It's been hell going on the past week and hell is still going on (refer to my msn nick).

I shall start with today then.

27th November 2008

Went to school early in the morning, to finish that HP magazine.
The publisher came to our school today at 11am and viewed through the various sections and the overall outline of the magazine.
She seemed pretty satisfied, so did SLim.
Now all that's left to do is to tie up the loose ends and burn the documents into a disc and you'll get a fresh new HP magazine next year.
After the publisher left, we were all wanting lunch.
There was an IT Conference going on in our school, so we had Bradley to help us steal some food yesterday.
Unfortunately, there were no extras today and we had to pay for our lunch. Sad case.
Finally we had IAC Exco meeting which lasted for about an hour, and new initiatives were presented and also the final Exco list was confirmed with the roles. (Kah How you were sacked because SLim wanted you to remain sane, I'm sorry I couldn't do anything about that ><)

After the stuff at school, went to Orchard to meet darling!
Dear grabbed KFC first, while I tried to check for the timings of Beverly Hills Chihuahua and Wild Child.
The Wireless@SG there is like, full reception, amazing stuff.
Eventually settled for Beverly Hills Chihuahua, and watched it at Plaza Sing.
14 GV Movies in a row and counting! Haha.
Random fact: 85 is super fast, lol.

Movie in Focus: Beverly Hills Chihuahua

Plot summary (courtesy of wikipedia):
Vivian, chihuahua Chloe's owner, leaves the pooch with her irresponsible niece Rachel to dog-sit. Rachel decides to go to Mexico with her pals, leaving Chloe in the room; the dog sneaks out and gets stolen. Chloe ends up tossed into a dog fight ring, left to defend herself from dog El Diablo. Delgado rescues her from the fight, unleashing the other dogs from their cages and unlocking the ring to allow the two dogs to escape. Delgado was planning to just walk away, but he feels bad and decides to help Chloe get back home. The leader of the dog fights realizes that Chloe is worth something and sends Delgado to find Chloe. Rachel stays in Mexico to find Chloe, Rachel's friend sneaks into Vivians' house to get a picture of Chloe when she is caught by the landscaper, Sam. He and his dog Papi from Beverly Hills, who is in love with Chloe go to Mexico to find her. Rachel and the landscaper team and set off to find Chloe. On their journey to Beverly Hills, Chloe and Delgado find themselves in many situations that they manage to escape; they make it to a national park in Mexico, where Chloe is regonized by an employee. Rachel and landscaper go to get Chloe but Delgago beats them to her. They end up in an old ruin where Chloe gets locked in a cage; Papi helps Chloe to escape. Chloe finds her bark and with the help of Papi and Delgado, and they get Diablo surender. Delgado becomes a K9 Unit and Rachel and Sam takes the dogs home. Back in Beverly Hills, Vivian likes Chloe's new smell (an earthy smell). Papi and Chloe relax on the patio. Chloe thanks Papi for his help and she tells him that she loves him in Spanish and she licks him down to the ground as her way of showing her love. Before the end credits, Papi explains what happens to the dogs, he and Chloe have puppies and Sam begins dating Rachel.

Overall quite a nice movie, with the visual effects for talking animals. There were laughable parts, but there were also parts for crying for the more easy-to-cry people. A good mix of everything, but is still barely enough to create a lasting impression in my mind about this movie.

HP magazine dominated the day.
Got strangled by SLim a couple of times, but it was Kwang Ming and Lit Xian who received a large portion of the strangling.
It was rather multi-tasking, being called to do IAC stuff at random intervals instead of merely focusing on the HP magazine.
Then SLim decided on the IAC Exco and to see if people should be put in or taken out.

So I left at 2.30pm and went to darling's house.
Her parents came back home and took me out with them for dinner shortly after.
Went to Tampines SAFRA to eat buffet.
After the dinner, wanted to play bowling but all the lanes were booked till around 10.30pm due to a competition going on.
So darling and I decided to play pool instead!
It was seriously only my 3rd time playing in my life and I won one game and lost one.
First time I accidentally hit the 8 ball in too early, and most of the shots were quite tyco xD
I think the next time I play pool, I better bring along a protractor to do all the crazy shots.
After that, darling's parents fetched me home while dear slept throughout almost the whole journey back xP

Today went to Plaza Sing to meet darling!
Firstly, watched Madagascar 2!
At first, we went into the wrong theatre with another couple.
Because cinemas 1 and 3 were so close, we were not the only ones mistaken.
But still, it was rather blur of us ><
Movie review following these messages:

Then, went to Seoul Garden and ate buffet.
We probably ate about twice the amount we paid, so it was quite worth it.
I would recommend their buffet, it's $11.99++ for students from Mon-Fri 11.00am - 4.00pm.
You can take as much beef, drinks, ice cream, ice kachang, dessert you want.
All for one price!
Be sure to go on an empty stomach!

There, he becomes the famous dancing lion and through a plane crash, finds his way back to Africa. There, he is reunited with his family and everything seems just right in place. Then, instead of fighting, he dances and gets banished from the pride. In an attempt to redeem himself, when the nature reserve suddenly ran out of water, he leaves the reserve in an attempt to solve the problem. In the end, Zuba and Alex saves the day and they assume the position of King again.

If I judged the movie as a movie with more mature themes, it is going to die devastatingly, so I shall review it like a children's movie. The basic themes are there, friendship and love, and of course the usual cheesy happy ending is obviously in place. Perfect for the child's eyes.

Rating: 8.5/10 (Children's movie), 6.2/10 (Mature movie, I still give credit for the good animation).

Chelsea won with sheer class over West Brom 3-0!
They truly showed why they deserve to be crowned champions,
especially the power drive by Jose Bosingwa which broke the deadlock.
Kudos to Chelsea for such a firey start to the 08/09 EPL Season!

This morning, woke up at around 8am.
Quite decent for a holiday morning.
Then washed up and went to meet darling at Suntec!
Popular BookFest starts @ 10am, and I reached there at 9.15am.
No surprises in Singapore that there were already people outside the Hall waiting, ~~including me~~, of course!
Kiasu-ism isn't something in Singapore that can be gotten rid of just overnight!
So darling arrived at about 9.30, and we waited for the green light to go in as more and more people flooded outside the hall.
Definitely more kids than parents though, and I saw few teenagers.

Went in already, then grabbed alot of stationery.
The basket was already beginning to deform when we finally decided we desperately needed a trolley.
The popular staff dam smart, put the trolley at the far end corner, come in already only give basket.
Should have broke their basket, but I'm just too nice a person to do that, won't you agree? :D
Then I felt totally scammed as I saw all four books, Twilight; New Moon; Eclipse; Breaking Dawn, ALL AT 10% DISCOUNT.
I should sell my books back to Borders/Kinokuniya.

Darling was very happy :D
Because she got everything she wanted, files, fulscap, etc.
AND THE MECHANICAL PENCIL!
Which was originally priced at a daylight-robbing $14.90,
but BookFest was merciful enough to cut it to $9.90.
Ah, how we all wish BookFest happened every other day.

Then we went back to Sengkang to bring home all the heavy Popular stuff,
then we went off to Woodlands!
I haven't visited Causeway Point for eons, so I was looking out for changes within the shopping complex, but apparently there was minimal.
Arrived at Popular Causeway Point, and darling bought her textbooks!
Felt even more scammed when I saw the whole Twilight series at the Popular again, and knowing the fact that I had a Popular membership card (which entailed 10% off), made the scamming worse. Ouch.
Went to try Seoul Garden, but the price gave its business away to KFC.

Then, proceeded to Timezone.
They had the King of the Hammer game, and someone used the hammer from that game to hit the sensor on the Dragon Punch game. Well, of course they broke the High Score.
Then I went to try one game of Daytona.
Good news for all you people going with me to chalet, I am currently very off form at the first turn of the Advanced Track. So if you want to beat me, the only way is to do better than me there. Other than that, fat hope! :D
After that, went to the nearby pasar malam to have a look.
Lots of fake stuff, and the layout reminded me of Queen Victoria Market, ~~but the fake stuff made it look like China~~.
After that, sent darling home!

Today went to Yishun Library to mug.
First day of re-opening, so it was extremely crowded, even to the finish.
The library closes at 9pm and when I left at about 8.35pm the place was still FLOODED.
No kidding.
The turnout was pretty good I would say, but I am disappointed with the type of people that turn up.
Ah lians come to library for what?
Uncles and aunties visit the library to read newspaper, for what?
Lucky, out of the 32 available seats there, I was glad to see about 10 seats taken up by muggers, ~~like me~~, but most were preparing for 'A's and I was preparing for Sec 4.
How early, haha.
Also, I finished New Moon! On to Eclipse next and I probably need to find some day to buy Breaking Dawn! Twilight ftw!

Movie in Focus: Quantum of Solace

Plot summary: The 22nd installment of the James Bond series featured Daniel Craig in his 2nd film as James Bond. The movie continues from Casino Royale, and throughout the whole movie Bond is aiming at capturing Dominic Greene, leader of Planet Greene, and part of the Quantum group, who is trying to extort money from a government by cutting off water supplies to the towns so that he can control a monopoly of water being supplied to the town. Eventually, Bond appears and disrupts his plan, leaving him in the desert with only a can of oil.

The whole movie was rather enjoyable but if you haven't watched any James Bond films before, it might be quite hard to follow so maybe you can have a try at watching Casino Royale first.

This morning, mum woke me up late, as usual.
Rushed through my bath, breakfast, and arrived at National Library only at 8.25.
Lucky O's were over, so less people compared to before.

Then went for lunch.
At Raffles City Marketplace, I finally found out why camps they always use the same type of bread.
I can't remember the brand name, but it's like one huge loaf $1.50, then the rest all small small loaf already $2.00++.
Then Suntec Convention got this Wedding Fair thingy going on.
Darling wanted to have a look, so we did.
Then got this old uncle super funny.

Movie in Focus: High School Musical 3: Senior Year

Plot summary:
The movie starts with the Wildcats in the middle of a basketball match, which they are trailing in. They eventually win, and following that there are a series of songs throughout the whole movie, which makes it seem extremely short, but is actually 112 minutes, or nearly 2 hours. There is only one main plot centered throughout the whole movie, which is Gabriella leaving Troy for a better University and a chance at a seemingly better future. As usual with all musicals, the movie ends on a good note and Troy makes his sacrifices to continue to be together with Gabriella.

A rather pointless movie without a main central plot, but I can definitely say that the songs are the best ever among all the 3 movies. So, just buy the soundtrack as opposed to watching the movie.

Rating: 6.8/10

The second ever best-selling game for Nintendo.
Just behind Super Mario.
Comes a very household game, Pokemon.
But there are different types of people that play it,
and I will attempt to name them all.

First up, the five-year old kid.

"Wow my Pikachu used Thunder!"

Small little kids, who are just too affected by the anime.
They admire Ash Ketchum so much, they turn their caps as they fiddle with their Gameboy.
As with the anime, they all think that Pikachu is the coolest, most powerful, and obviously can own anyone that comes in its way.
What they don't know is that their level 100 Pikachu can be easily defeated with an Earthquake from any level 50 ground-type Pokemon.

Secondly, the Primary School kid armed with a guide book.

The guide book. Walkthroughs and everything.
Recommended elite four teams.
Movesets and TMs that can be learned.
The game will definitely be completed much more successfully, with the consideration of the weaknesses of the different trainers that they will face.
But their Pokemon will definitely not be the best, as they only consider movesets.

Finally, the mature 15-year old playing it again for fun.

Everything is taken into consideration now.
Movesets, and even researching on effort value and trying their best to get the perfect Pokemon with the correct nature and so on.
Their team is worth giving a second look at, because they have definitely the best that you can find anywhere.

Movie in Focus: Max Payne

Plot summary:
Max Payne is a rather high-ranking police officer who is greatly traumatized by his family's death as he was unable to find the last murderer of his family. Driven by his emotions, Max turns to illegal sources as he tries to find the final murderer who was responsible for the death of his wife and baby. Eventually, Max gets himself into trouble and the final murderer is finally revealed to be another police officer. His wife got killed as she was working on a top secret medicine which was supposed to strengthen American troops but failed and caused them to have hallucinations instead. Max eventually drinks the strange concoction himself and kills everyone.

Definitely ALOT of action, but the plot sometimes is quite fragmented and is quite hard to follow, as they enter lots of dark places.

Humanities In Celebration 2008.

In the morning I got this feeling that everything will screw up.
Reach about noon the rehearsal still screwing up.
Then the final full dress rehearsal over-run.
GG.

About 2pm, starting stapling all 400 programme booklets.
After stapling about 300, we realized,
STAPLED IN THE WRONG ORDER.
Got everything done by 3.45pm, CORRECTLY.
We removed staples from the booklets one by one and restapled all.
I tell you, you would never want to even try doing it.

6.30pm. Crowds start to gather outside the Drama Centre.
Panic.
Panic.
Panic.
Took one of the props and used as a ticket collecting box.
Sorry Cheese play!
Then voting screwed up.
But Biting Point won by quite a huge margin anyway.

Then it all ended there.
Two whole weeks of mad rush ended in a mere 3 hours.
Guess that's the way to go.

10th-11th October -

HSC Selection Camp was a blast!
Even though I had to leave dear at HCJC open house for it ><

1st Day:

Everyone gathered at SALT Centre at about 1300h, then 10 minutes later we were called up to the activity room. There, we deposited our belongings and were briefed on our first activity, Puzzle Link. 30 puzzle pieces stuck all over SALT Centre, and we had to find them. At first we all thought we were supposed to join them together according to colour, but it ended up being the shape instead. So, my group was formed. Liki, Dennis, Derrick, Nicholas Tan and Me. We were supposed to name our group after a political leader and we chose Cai Yong. The second activity was a mock DotA game, and at first we were getting targeted but after a while we answered many consecutive questions and ended up having a dominating streak before gang-bangs by the other groups put our kill-death ratio to 4-2. Conclusion, Cai Yong is an early-game hero, so watch out the next time you use him and make sure not to let the battle drag on for too long. Next up was drafting the Council Theme for 36HSC. I loved 360 全, it was super meaningful. Next we went on a Mission Possible, completing a series of tasks like helping each other cross canteen tables and the most memorable one was definitely Liki feeding Derrick. Their mouths probably came a bit too close for comfort. Then came the real dinner. After that was seniors talk, followed by the much-anticipated wargames. There came the Jfoo bear-hug and Leonard trying to get back at Jfoo at all costs. Then there was the 9 vs. 1 Liki practice session and also the in-the-dark 5 vs. 1 gang-bang of unsuspecting Bo Qing, I really apologize for that. Eventually in the last round I tried a backdoor but unfortunately got caught and killed. Overall, it was still a very memorable activity. Then came the debrief before there was about 1 and half hours of free time before lights out. Derrick not bad, call McDelivery which came at 0000h. And for some reason, I woke up at about 0200h, and went over to pull my handphone out of charging, then went back to sleep again. Super weird.

2nd day:

Waking up at 0600h then had to gather by 0640h. The day started very early, with the first activity, The Council's Apprentice. The activity lasted the whole day, with a regrouping and also the merging of three action papers to form a hub, and my hub, Hubba-Hubba, was going up against HubACE. Eventually we lost and during the Boardroom meeting we had to reflect on why the results was so and it was an extremely mental session, somehow. Then came the peer commenting session and I actually got quite a fair bit out of it. Thanks guys, especially those from Hubba-Hubba. Then, we were all dismissed at 1800h.

Went out with darling to watch Wall-E! <3
Somehow the movie seemed much shorter as compared to when I first saw it, but it was definitely much more memorable(:
Darling owned me at basketball! >< But we got our Toblerone ;D
And I managed to play Daytona USA Advanced Track with only 1 screw up, and it's the first time I got 1st. So watch out people, especially those going for chalet with me, it's a confirmation that I will drag you to the arcade and play Daytona with me.

Firstly, I am not a fan of F1(:
Camping on the bridge to Beach Road and looking at that small tiny corner, saw the F1 cars.

Luckily no acid rain, because pH of normal rainwater is about 5.6. The carbon dioxide in the air reacts with water to produce weak carbonic acid, and thus normal rainwater is not of pH 7, but pH 5.6. So, sulphur dioxide in the air reacts with water to form a weak sulphurous acid. Then, the sulphurous acid further reacts with oxygen to form sulphuric acid, which is a strong acid, and causes the pH value of the rain to drop drastically, thus forming acid rain!

US bank Lehman Brothers declare bankruptcy.
Merrill sold for 50 billion.
Bankers in Singapore begin to worry about their jobs.
People flock to AIA to get insurance claims due to the meltdown of the financial sector.
US Oil Prices are at an all-time low, 90 US dollars per barrel as of 16th September 2008.

Then came the meltdown of the educational sector in CSE, Hwa Chong Institution.
Missing teachers have been a hot question.
Today, Biology lesson was free.
The lesson immediately prior to that, Mathematics, was even more free.

I have to say,
that I am very happy today.

I passed physics test, when I predicted a complete failure.
So the day was going well.

Then, chemistry test. 40.5/50
Personally I expected a score around there, just felt that I could have done better when I looked back at the mistakes.
I'm extremely glad my practising of Chem Calculations I-III really paid off, full marks for chem calculations expect a -0.5 from forgetting to write "Mr of".
Yu Song damn pro la, don't need to practise :D

Mid Autumn Festival Celebrations!
Turnout from High School Section was pathetic,
Only Yongzhi and me.

See, Yongzhi got scammed to buy a lantern.

Then we walked by clock tower, magnificent night view.

Halfway, the candle of the lantern went out with a poof. Ghostly aura.
So walked back to college section, brilliant grand finale.
Look at the amount of people (Unfortunately none from high school)!

Overall, still quite worth the trip.

And Yongzhi is more widely known as yongy-bear.

Yesterday went to school for bio lesson, thought I was late already, then Ms. Evelyn Teo went back to her home to take bio notes and was even later.
Then throughout the whole lesson got people streaming in at different timings.

After bio I waited for Yu Song and after he finished maths lesson then we didn't know where to go.
So I ended up going to his house to mug instead.
Then, first time in my life I sat a bus that actually broke down.
After that minor setback, reached his house anyway.
Yu Song's mother is very nice, spammed me with food haha.
Went into his room to mug chem, with a bit of Home Alone 3.
At about 4 plus I decided it was time to go so I left for home.

The moment I reached home I got a call from Yu Song.
Bradley met with car accident.
Contacted Kah How then went down to NUH to visit Bradley.
Apparently he is rather fine, but the hospital is just paranoid.

So, reached home and did SBQ until 2am.
I bet submission times will be something like 1158h or 1159h.

Wireless @ SG is probably one of the best things Singapore has!
The speed is so fast I was almost tempted to play an MMORPG.
However, I decided to give up as Samantha's iBook was sucking every single watt of power the power socket could provide.

If 2 people also can be considered facs mugging session, then I had Ilori mugging session today.
You see Singaporeans, National Library opens at 10am, everyone gathering outside the entrance at 9.45.
When the doors open, everyone runs in like small kids.
I didn't, 因为我可不是三岁小孩.
Found a spot on the floor, sat down and started finishing up bio ppt.
Attempted SBQ again, it looks deceptively easy, but well, you get the idea.
After a bit of geog, went for lunch.

Lunch at Suntec!
Place still feels so familiar.
Decided to go for Subway, Eat Fresh.
Finished lunch, transferred back to Nat Lib.
I guess it's gonna be my home for the next few days.

Back @ Nat Lib, continued to do geog, and switched to chem after awhile.
Just felt the urge to do Chem Calculations.
Then Samantha had to leave to go back for school, so I was left alone.
Finished up the remainder of chem, and decided to look around.

Spotted this huge book, Disappearing World.
It's about vanishing ancient historical sites, and it's really sad to see these beauties go.
Then I spotted another catchier title - Blood And Oil.
It's an insight into American foreign policy, and how their thirst for oil is going to kill the world.
Liked the preface, so I decided to borrow it.

Tomorrow I don't know which library to give a visit to.
Perhaps I'll check if the school library is open.
Or maybe I'll sneak into Esther Cheong's Homeroom and mug with H1 people!
Either way it's mugging spree/fever/mode/whatever.

Teacher's Day Celebrations!
Went to school for teacher's day concert celebrations!
I think Kah How would have been very satisfied with the product.
And Mr. Tommie Chen actually has a good voice!

After celebrations, went around the staff room and school to give my Microsoft-Publisher-Home-Made cards to various teachers.
When I was giving my card to Mr. Tommie Chen, a Sec Two was behind me.

Mr. Chen (to the Sec 2): Wow teacher's day present? Oh assignment.

Then on the 3rd floor of Staff Room, was at Mrs. Sow's table.

Someone: Happy Teacher's Day Mrs. Sow!
Mrs. Sow: Ya, remember to complete Chemical Calculations I - IV!

Give us a break, haha.

Then went to give Mr. Samuel Lim and Ms. Gwee Hana, then took my melbourne cert from Mr. Lim.
I got second lower class honours!
Even though it's lousier than expected, it is still at least a rank above third class.

Then tried to contact some ex-Northlanders, Nicholas Tang totally ignored my call.
So I took bus back with Zhi Hao and on the way, Shao Yan, Gloria, Zhi Yi and Grace Chua boarded the same bus, how coincidental!
Went all the way to Northpoint, then at the food court met up with a whole load of people, RI guys and NY girls.
After Bo Qing arrived, we adjourned to Northland, where Marcus was still bent on the theory that Isabella was walking backwards.

So while waiting for the school gates to open at 1.30, Isabella finally arrived.
At 1.36 the security guards opened the gates, and you could see a stampede trying to squeeze through the tiny gates of what used to be my primary school.
Walked in after most of the stampede and went to look for teachers.
After a while a few Cat High guys joined us!
Amazingly my Chinese teacher was still around, but she said that she is going to retire very soon.
My Pri 3/4 Teacher left the school, but my P6 teacher was still around!
Even though she couldn't really remember all our names, but oh well, teachers are busy people.
She said jokingly that she would be around in the Primary School till her obituary appears in the papers.
Also, I saw Jingle and she was apparently staring at me but she claims she didn't see me.

Then, looked at my watch, 2.40!
Rushed off to GV Yishun to meet Shi Wei, Joel and Yun Xin, to watch Wall-E!
Somehow everyone was rather sleepy.
First time this year I managed to use my GV Movie Club Card however, haha.

Plot summary:
Wall-E is a robot left behind by BuynLarge Corporation to clean up the mess on Earth. Then Wall-E meets Eve, another robot which is sent down by BnL to examine if Earth was suitable for return. Due to the exposure to emotions, Wall-E falls in love with Eve, and has trouble even getting closer to her at first. However, through various events it is finally a happy ending not only for the two of them, but also for the entire human population.

Review:
Personally I feel that this movie displays the animation power of Pixar, and that animation movies should not be looked down upon. However, the plot is rather boring at the start, and do not watch it when you're sleepy. If you can survive the front part however, the rest of the movie is worth the money.

Rating: 8.9/10

Went to school early in the morning for Lit Seminar!
Proceeded to ACS(I) by bus, and was immensely shocked to see the MOE Commanding Officer for the seminar.
He was my form teacher for two whole years.
He is none other than Mr. Jared Quek.
Just when I thought I did not need to see him ever again in my whole life, he appeared in a poof.

Okay that's beside the point.
So, reached there and watched Poetry Slam!
The Temasak JC one was really good, about being emo.
They truly deserved to win.

Then, when finding the room for our workshops, nearly 70% of the people there got lost.
Yongzhi took some very nice pictures of that.

So, my workshop was Column Writing.
It was rather enjoyable, reading and analyzing different columns especially one that will appear on Straits Times tomorrow about the IOC President.
Our workshop was conducted by Zuraidah Ibrahim, a journalist for the Straits Times.
Then somehow she talked about blogging.

Zuraidah: Maybe you blog everyday?
Me (Telling Yongzhi): Yeah, every hour perhaps.

And after lunch was presentation.
Apparently Gregory's one was totally flooded, so Yongzhi and I went to watch Phyllis and Dileen's one instead.
Haha it was rather good, engaged the audience very well :D
After that the PLMGS group had some technical difficulties, so Yongzhi and I just ran back to HCI for Alumni Dinner.

Back at HCI, changed into council u to act as high-class tour guides.
Led 6 people from the 1988 batch around the school compound with Yi Jing and Dee Zhen.
And I stepped into the heritage centre for the 2nd time in my life!
Just as I was about to leave, I spotted a plaque on the second floor of the heritage centre.
Our 2002 Gold Award for BUC!
So that's where it went.

Surprisingly, didn't have to wait long for the 852 today, so I promptly got on and started mugging geog.
Finished Plate Tectonics and Volcanoes, then slept.

Everything went quite smoothly until the announcement of the 3rd place, etc.
